9/22 Leaving Green Turtle Bay up the Tennessee River

Sorry to be offline for a few days.  We went to Green Turtle Bay after Nashville to get our windlass fixed and the Raymarine looked at.  The Raymarine technician suggested we get a different computer chip in and he brought it the next day.  The windlass technician diagnosed the problem with the windlass quickly.  We needed a new relay box.  Of course, it had to be ordered.  It came in the next day but was the wrong model.  Yesterday afternoon, the right one came in and was installed.  So last night, we were ready to cruise.

Green Turtle Bay is not a tough place to wait though.  We spent some time looking out over Lake Barkley.
I went to the pool each day.  The pool was filled with loopers and good conversation.  I also found time to get a manicure.

Our friends, Rod and Susie, whose boat had gotten caught on the I beam in Nashville, had their boat pulled out of the water to check the damage.  They have steel covering their keel and it saved them from major damage.  Here they are on the golf cart picking us up for dinner last night.  It was good to celebrate this news.

This morning we got an early start and headed out on the Tennessee River.
We will take the Tennessee to Chattanooga.  It was a beautiful but warm day for the first day of fall.  The Tennessee is a wide river.   There are places where areas were flooded to make way for the river.   Here is an old building in the water at the side of the river.
This railroad crossing does not go over the river but ends with two spans.

We are at the Pebbles Isle Marina in New Johnsonville, TN.   It is tucked away in a wonderful harbor off the river.  The sunset was stunning.

Tomorrow, we head further up the Tennessee.
