8/13 Farmers' Market

It poured last night.  And it was still pouring when we woke up.  The rain finally stopped about 9 am and the sun came out.  The heat and humidity were brutal.

We headed for the St. Joseph Bluff for the farmers' market.  This downtown bluff overlooks the lakefront.  At one time there was an amusement park there.  People were playing in the fountain and the water on the lake looked rough.

We sampled and bought homemade black cherry soda.  We bought peaches, cinnamon bread, and an ABC (apple, blueberry, and cherry) pie.  There is this statue, Maids of the Mist, in the downtown.

As I walked down to see the statue, there was dredging going on.  The barge with the crane was being steadied by the Tug Ann Marie, that we had "seen" on AIS the other day.  Here she is.

We had a quiet day.  We did other provisioning and went to church.  Our plan is to stay until Monday morning when the winds calm down and head for Michigan City, Indiana.
