Rain!! Rain!! Rain!!
Heavy rain started during the night. The sound of the rain on the boat is very soothing. Our boat is dry and we slept well. We looked at the radar. Rain, rain and more rain was forecast. So we decided to make it a quiet day here at the free dock in Canajoharie at the Riverfront Park.
Blueberry pancakes started the day off and they were good. The nearest Catholic Church is some distance, so I attended Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York using my Sirius on my cell phone.
Then is was time for chores. Boats are like houses and do get dusty. Because the doors and hatches are often open to enjoy the fresh air, the dust and pollen find their way in. And just like home crumbs find there way to the floor. We do have a vacuum cleaner for the rugs and the Swiffer sweeper and Swiffer floor washer do a good job.
But the rain kept coming.
Ducks sat on the dock and seemed content.
We right by the Palantine bridge. In the picture below, the water was just streaming off the bridge over 24 feet all the way to water level.
John spent some time planning our next stops and reviewing our options for crossing Lake Ontario to Canada. We did a few computer chores too.
Tomorrow promises to be a better day with only some chance showers. So we will head further west. Hopefully, we will get pictures of the biggest lock on the Erie Canal.
